Youth & Family Counseling will present Food for Thought, a luncheon in celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month next month.
The luncheon will take place on Friday, May 8, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm., at the Arboretum Club in Buffalo Grove. The guest speakers will be Community Activist Kathy Ryg and Lake County Board Chairman Aaron Lawlor.
Ms. Ryg , a former state representative and President of Voices for Illinois Children, fully understands the impact of politics on policy. Mr. Lawlor, who has been recognized as a “Rising Star” in Illinois politics by NBC’s Chuck Todd, is committed to investing in economic growth, infrastructure improvements and healthy communities. Their presentation will provide information about the obstacles to receiving mental healthcare in our community and include a discussion with attendees about how we can improve access to care.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Youth & Family Counseling, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving access to mental healthcare in Lake County.
